I highly recommend Hangmans Curse by Frank Peretti. The story is easy to pick up on and the story is very chilling and intriguing. I am currently reading it and I am about pages in and it is still very mysterious and unanswered, so the mystery aspect is great as well. The book is pages, just so you know.brbrBut if you would prefer something a little less dark, I would go with the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. The characters are all unique and likeable, and the books are all very interesting with good action. Plenty of hilarious witty dialogue as well, and that is always a plus in my book.brbrA book that I recently purchased but havent yet read is Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor. It is basically a retelling of Alice in Wonderland in Beddors point of view. Like I said, I havent read it yet, but it looks very interesting. So I would check that one out as well.
