Question
Which book?
Over the summer, Im suppossed to read like books for A.P. english, and Ive narrowed one of my lists down to Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, or Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte... I need to choose one of these... so which one do you recommend and why? Also, Ive looked a bit at both, but its a toss up, and I cant find a good reason to go with either one... please help!
Answer
Your question has a pained quality to it ... as if you HAVE to read and its going to be this enormous chore!!! Reading is the most wonderful pastime. If you can find a quiet, comfortable space and just lose yourself in a book, this is utopia on a stick. So, you can tell already that I am going to advise you to read both books. I know that if you spent some of your precious summer break reading you would not be bored or disappointed. Reading is not only an escape ... it broadens your world, it educates, it widens your vocabulary, it stimulates, and it engenders a deep appreciation of the written word.brbrbrbrReply to EinsteinbrainiacbrbrSorry ... Did I say you were lazy? I actually thought I was encouraging you. Mia culpa for wanting to truly encourage and help you. I think the wording quot...Im supposed to read like books ...quot and quot..I cant find a good reason to go with either one..quot gave me the impression you were not really looking forward to the project. I didnt for one minute think you were lazy. Im an avid reader and I was trying to get you excited about the joy of reading. Im delighted for you that you have a private library of books and Im sorry I misjudged your mood. Anyway, good luck and I wish you success with whichever book you choose to go with. brbrbrbrReply to EinsteinbrainiacbrbrNo problem. Happy reading!
